Mossos neutralizes a violent robbery in a supermarket in Reus

Two men, residents of Reus aged 47 and 31, have ended up handcuffed and arrested this Wednesday night after a violent robbery at a supermarket on General Moragues street in Reus.

The defendants entered the establishment (shortly before 7:30 p.m.), and left with two beers in hand and without going through the checkout. One of the employees saw that it was an attempted robbery and wanted to prevent them from passing , ending up pushed by one of the two thieves.She has not suffered major injuries.

While the robbery was reported, two Mossos service agents in plainclothes who were nearby went looking for him once he had learned the description of the two suspects. Inside the Parc de Sant Jordi, near the Fira de Reus (in Plaza Mayor Anton Borrell), the agent has been identified. At that time, the reaction of the two subjects has been violent and they have confronted him.

Parallel reinforcements arrived (previously notified) that have been able to neutralize the two defendants. And these have ended up arrested. The plainclothes agent suffers minor injuries, as confirmed by Mossos d’Esquadra sources.

The two subjects have been handcuffed and transferred to the Mossos de Reus police station after passing the protocol medical examination. Both are registered and have about a dozen criminal records, as the newspaper has learned. They will go to court in the next few hours.
